PUNJAB ACT NO. 8 OF 1960

[Received the assent of the Governor of Punjab on the 24^th January, 1960, and was first published for general information in the Punjab Government Gazette( Extraordinary), dated the 28^th January, 1960]

An Act to validate certain registrations and matters appurtenant thereto.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in the Eleventh year of the Republic of India as follows:-

Short Title:-

1. This Act may be called the Punjab Registration Validating Act, 1960.

Validation of acts of registering officers purporting to act as registrars or sub-Registrar.

2. All acts performed by the-

(a) registering officers specified in column 2 of the schedule purporting to act as Registrars of the districts specified in column 1 thereof during the period noted against each in column 3 of that Schedule; and

(b) Sub-Registrar, Ambala City, purporting to act as Sub-Registrar, Ambala Cantonment, during the period commencing on the 6^th January 1955, and ending with the 17^th August, 1955;

shall be deemed to have been validly performed as if the aforesaid persons had been duly appointed as Registrars or sub-registrars, as the case may be, under the Indian Registration Act, 1908 ( Central Act XVI of 1908) for the purposes of the performance of such acts.
